September 02, 2022 by Joey Birch A Closer Look at the Air Jordan 4 'Black Canvas' 2022 has seen an increased appreciation for the fourth addition to the Air Jordan lineage, the Air Jordan 4. Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the Air Jordan 4 promotes flight in every sense of the word, only right for one of the greatest players to grace the court. Earlier in the year, leaked images showcased our first look at the Blank Canvas Air Jordan 4, a clean material version of the classic silhouette, the Blank Canvas AJ 4 promoted customisation with the addition of a colourful paint effect on the outsole. In addition to a range of other colourways and iterations of the AJ4, Jordan Brand has lined up the Black Canvas. A muted, monotone, version of the Canvas style, the overall finish is minimal and clean with a predominantly black upper with grey detailing. Eminem x Carhartt x Air Jordan 4, 2015 At first glance, the Black Canvas Air Jordan 4 looks incredibly similar to the Eminem x Carhartt x Air Jordan 4 from 2015 which remains one of the most sought-after collaborations of all time from the black upper to the grey and white midsole in addition to the silver eyelets seen running up the shoe which are seen in grey on the upcoming version. Besides the black canvas upper in conjunction with grey eyelets, midsole and Jumpman logo on the heel, a short-haired suede is used around the mudguard along with classic rubber mesh panels around the upper of the sneaker to provide variations to the textures seen on display. The only pop of colour to the shoe can be found on the tongue and insole on which the ‘Flight’ tag stands front and centre in a bright red matching the ‘Air Jordan’ upside-down tag on the back of the tongue in conjunction with the Jumpman logo on the insole. While the second canvas colourway of the Air Jordan 4 doesn’t lend itself to being customised as easily as its predecessor, it is sure to be a popular release for those looking to grab a new staple in their rotation.
