April 15, 2022 by Joey Birch Top 10 Easter Themed Sneakers To Date As with any holiday throughout the year, sneaker brands like to release special sneakers to commemorate the event. With Spring/Summer around the corner, we decided to take a look back at our favourite Easter-themed sneakers (both official and unofficial) to date. Air Force 1 Low ‘Easter Egg’, 2005 Taking one of the greatest silhouettes of all time, the Air force 1 ‘Easter’ from 2005 is arguably one of the most synonymous sneakers when you think of Easter-themed footwear. Featuring a range of patent leather panels each in a different pastel tone, with cracked eggs on the tongue and heel. Bad Bunny adidas Forum ‘Easter Egg’, 2020 Originally released in 1984, the adidas Forum was close to being Michael Jordan's signature shoe. One of the four Forum Low releases Bad Bunny has been a part of, the ‘Easter Egg’ colourway switches out the usually toned down approach and uses Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio’s (AKA Bad Bunny) eclectic style as inspiration. Featuring pink premium suede and leather in varying tones complete with detailing such as the double heel tabs and tongues, with additional pastel laces and the rappers Bunny logo on the box, the Bad Bunny Forum Low ‘Easter’ is a sneaker that was a surprising hit. Nike Air Max 180 ‘Easter Egg’, 2006 2006 seemed to be the year Nike were keen to celebrate Easter to the fullest. Releasing alongside Air Force 1s, and Zoom Tre SBs of the same inspiration, the AM180 ‘Easter Egg’ keeps simple colour blocking on the upper with a predominantly purple upper along with yellow and teal hits. Designed by Tinker Hatfield and released in 1991, the 180 has always been the canvas for some of Nike’s more adventurous designs. See ‘The History of Air Max’ for more. Social Status x Nike Dunk Mid ‘Chocolate Milk’, 2021 Inspired by the idea of free school lunch, the Social Status x Nike Dunk Mid ‘Free Lunch’ pack featured the ‘Chocolate Milk’ colourway as well the ‘Strawberry Milk’. Each shoe came with an incredible amount of detail as well as a short film to aid in the rollout. While the release featured subtle details including sell-by dates, ingredients printed on the heel, as well as a specially designed box, it’s the details on the ‘Chocolate Milk' colourway that make them a perfect Easter themed sneaker. Soft beige velvets with brown tumbled leather overlays finished off with pops of pastel blues and pinks tell a story while also being heavily reminiscent. Air Jordan 7 Hare 2.0, 2020 Does it get more Easter themed than the Easter bunny? The Air Jordan Hare 2.0 draws its inspiration from Looney Tunes’ Bugs Bunny featuring a faux rabbit hair all over the grey upper with hits of pink inside the wings as a nod to the character's ears. A light pink tongue can also be found within the classic AJ 7 silhouette alongside the detailing we’re used to seeing on the silhouette. WMNS Nike Dunk Low ‘Easter’, 2021 Following the Nike Dunk’s return to power throughout 2021, the Women’s exclusive Nike Dunk Low ‘Easter’ features multicoloured leather panels on the upper along with an eye-catching yellow outsole. Predominantly in pastel, the WMNS Nike Dunk Low ‘Easter’ is the perfect option for Spring/Summer. Nike Dunk High Easter Polka Dot, 2007 Reminiscent of chocolate, the Nike Dunk High ‘Easter Polka Dot’ features a myriad of soft brown leather and nubuck panels complete with subtle pink detailing on the Swoosh and midsole allowing for the polka dot pattern to pop throughout. With Nike releasing a large variety of Nike Dunk colourways, the ‘Easter Polka Dot’ is one that seems to be forgotten about when looking back at the lineage. Reebok Question Mid GS ‘Easter’, 2015 Reebok knows, that kids love Easter. Hence why, in 2015, they released the Grade School Reebok Question Mid ‘Eastbay’. Originally released in 1996 as Allen Iverson’s first signature shoe, the Question has since become a mainstay in many basketball sneaker fans' collections, recently retroing in a number in a number of OG colourways. For the Question Mid ‘Easter’, they kept the colourway clean with grey leather detailed with purple hits on the upper as well as a shimmering stripped toebox to add the finishing touches. Ben and Jerry’s x Nike SB Dunk Low, 2020 Named after one of Ben Jerry’s flavours of ice creams, the ‘Chunky Monkey’, the Chunky Dunky was a sneaker that managed to permeate beyond sneaker culture, into the mainstream. Featuring an eclectic range of colours and materials including faux cow hair and a yellow Swoosh dripping on the lateral and medial sides of the upper, the Chunky Dunky also released with a limited number of pairs coming in a unique oversized ice cream tub. YEEZY Boost 750 ‘Brown/Gum’, 2016 The YEEZY Boost 750 ‘Brown/Gum’ also coined as the ‘Chocolates’ by fans, is a sneaker that set off the YEEZY empire as we know it today. Premium brown suedes cover the upper of the sneaker, reminiscent of an Easter egg making this a great shoe to rock over the Easter holidays.
